Executive Team

Tony Amendola, President and CEO

Tony Amendola is the owner and CEO of FMP Mortgage Investments Inc., the largest distributor of syndicate mortgages that fund Fortress Real Development projects. He brings with him more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on real estate. Prior to FMP, Tony held a senior-level position in the sales department at one of North America’s largest land banking investment companies.

Tony has a proven track record of success in real estate and banking, and also in the arena of institutional clientele. Tony earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, where he graduated from York University. He also holds both a mortgage and a real estate licence. He is a valued member of the Canadian Italian Business Professional Association (CIBPA) and currently sits on its Board of Directors.

Michael Daramola,
Principal Broker, Chief Compliance Officer

Michael Daramola brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services sector. He has held several management positions with various organizations, including two of Canada’s five largest banks and was a lecturer of the Mortgage Broker Program at Seneca College for six years.

As Principal Broker, Chief Compliance Officer, Michael promotes ethical conduct and compliance with rules, regulations, and standard processes that govern how financial services organizations should conduct business. The role requires actively staying on top of the latest industry news, laws, regulations and business trends, and being able to translate these into requirements for the operation of FMP. Michael monitors the business and ensures that it is operating according to applicable regulatory requirements, operating processes and policies.

Michael is a graduate of Economics and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Personnel and Industrial Relations from the University of Windsor. In addition, he has also earned a Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Services Underwriting from Seneca College of Applied Arts & Technology,Toronto. Prior to joining FMP Mortgage Investments Inc., Michael worked as a Mortgage Broker with Centro Mortgage Inc., a Richmond Hill based mortgage brokerage and was also a Principal Broker for NuCity Mortgage, a Toronto based mortgage brokerage.

His involvement with financial governance in Canada provides an unparalleled access to the best practices in the field and allows him to draw upon this wealth of knowledge to ensure that the company’s practices and systems in place allow effective governance activities to be conducted in a compliant safe, timely, efficient and cost-effective manner.

As an industry leader, Michael is highly sought after. He contributes his expertise to several boards in various capacities, including: Director of Markham Stouffville Hospital in Markham, Ontario; Director of Canadian Institute of Management; and Member of Markham Race Relations.

Peter Natyshak
Executive Vice President

Peter Natyshak is the Executive Vice President at FMP and has extensive experience working in franchise sales and real estate development. Prior to FMP, Peter was the Vice President of Franchise Sales at Prime Restaurants, overseeing all site selection, lease negotiations for all new restaurants locations (including East Side Mario’s, Casey’s, Fionn MacCool’s, Beirmarket).

Prior to Prime Restaurants, Peter worked as Vice President for a land development organization, overseeing all land purchases, property management, architectural designs, zoning changes and coordination of all consultants as well as internal sales and construction staff.

At FMP, Peter oversees the hiring and development of office employees and mortgage agents and makes recommendations for changing sales roles, coverage models, and team configurations in order to maximize sales productivity. He is a major asset to the FMP management team.

Graham McWaters
Regional Vice President Sales, GTA

As a specialist in syndicate mortgage investments, Graham McWaters is a speaker, trainer and Regional Vice President Sales, GTA, with FMP Mortgage Investments Inc. Graham is a graduate of McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce, with majors in finance and international business.

With almost 20 years of mortgage industry experience, Graham has a proven track record with respect to lending and borrowing with over $400 million in funded deals. Graham also holds the Accredited Mortgage Professional (AMP) designation from the Canadian Association of Accredited Mortgage Professionals. In addition to his expertise in mortgages, Graham is a nationally recognized leader in the field of identity theft protection and risk management as the author of The Canadian Guide to Protecting Yourself from Identity Theft and Other Fraud (2007). He is also the co-author of the best-seller The Canadian Retirement Guide (2004).

Leonard Kerman,

Lenny Kerman is the Regional Vice President Sales, GTA of FMP Mortgage Investments Inc. (King City). Lenny brings with him more than 12 years of experience in the financial services industry with a focus on real estate.

Prior to FMP, Lenny was in a senior level position in the sales department at one of North America’s largest land banking investment companies. Earning his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph, Lenny has gone on to become a master practitioner of neurolinguistic programming, as well as being licensed in the insurance industry. He has used his vast experience to become the owner of Kings Landing Financial, Making Money For You Inc. (insurance brokerages), the Financial Sales Authority, and Transfocus Learning Inc. (sales training organizations).

David Hysen is a 35 year veteran in the financial services industry who practices conservative secured money management. Clients connect with his common sense approaches and others have referred to him as “intuitive” for helping people generate their own best suited strategies. He has experienced first-hand extremes of the financial markets over his career and brings a level of maturity into every discussion.

Trevor Wolfe,
Vice President, Corporate Finance

Trevor Wolfe brings extensive financial management and operations management experience to FMP. He oversees the accounting, financial planning & analysis, and internal auditing functions.

He leads the accounting team responsible for the daily accounting entries, payroll, commissions, and reconciliation. He prepares the financial statements quarterly and provides management reports on a monthly basis. He analyzes the financials and operations regularly to identify areas of opportunity (i.e. cost reduction or revenue growth).

Vanessa Dorrington,

Vanessa Dorrington was the first hire at FMP. As the Director of Administration, Vanessa is responsible for talent design and performance management, compensation and benefits programs, employee rewards systems and aligning business objectives. Vanessa has been a key contributor to driving organizational improvements and facilitating the continued evolution of our business.

Prior to joining FMP, Vanessa held senior leadership positions at Altaview Financial and the Walton International Group, a multinational real estate investment and development firm. She has more than 10 years of professional experience in the financial sector with an emphasis on employee relations, recruiting, personal development and team member engagement.

Vanessa’s dedication and commitment were recently recognized with the presentation of the Fortress Team Support award. Beyond delivering exceptional results, Vanessa is widely known for her contagious work ethic and her ability to inspire team members to consistently do their best for our customers, as well as for their own personal growth. Vanessa studied at Wilfred Laurier University and possesses her mortgage agent license.

Marcus Nana Kwamie,
Marketing and Communications Manager

As FMP’s Marketing and Communications Manager, Marcus guides all aspects of marketing and communications. He has directs FMP’s Marketing Department by developing and implementing a marketing & communications policies and procedures protocol, as well as managing marketing budgets. He has mastered the knowledge of products, markets and inventory, while serving as a liaison to provide agents, referral partners and clients with project information and due diligence updates. Marcus’ role and responsibilities also include drafting corporate communications, directing FMP’s client relations management system as well as creating and managing a multimedia archive.

He has co-ordinated marketing campaigns and developed content for professional development sessions, client seminars and project site tours. Marcus is a valuable resource for all of FMP’s agents, by educating them on investment philosophies and marketing strategies. Through his consummate professionalism and meticulous organizational skills, Marcus is a brand ambassador for FMP. Marcus continues to create new and innovative marketing initiatives, campaigns and strategies to support FMP’s growth and achievement of the company’s goals.

Ashley De Sa Vieira,
Administrator

Ashley De Sa Vieira is an Administrator at FMP Mortgage Investment Inc. Her main duties and responsibilities include: assisting with front desk in arranging meetings and booking conference calls, photocopying and printing various documents on behalf of other colleagues and agents.

 

Ashley manages all ILA and Notary appointments. Uses content management systems to maintain and update internal databases. She uses a variety of software packages, to produce correspondence and documents to maintain records, spreadsheets and databases in regards to clients. She deals with a deficient mortgage documents.

Taylor Henriksen,
Administration

Taylor Henriksen is an administrator at FMP Mortgage Investments Inc. She is a recent addition to the team following the completion of her BAH at Queen’s University. Some of Taylor’s main responsibilities include assisting mortgage agents in booking Independent Legal Advice and commissioning appointments for their clients, quality assuring documents, and corresponding paperwork deficiencies with agents. She is responsible for assisting in the management of company databases and spreadsheets, and tracking incoming and outgoing documents and sales numbers.
